2022 Dion Summerstown Forest Snowshoe Race - Results


Congratulations to all participants in today’s 8th annual Dion Summerstown Forest Snowshoe Race held near Cornwall, ON.


Snow and trail conditions were great in beautiful Summerstown Forest. Participants raced in either the 7.2 km race to collect points for the Dion Ontario Snowshoe Running Series, or the accompanying 4.2 km event.


7.2 km Dion Ontario Snowshoe Series Points Race:

Bernie Hogan of Bancroft won the 7.2 km race in a time of 35:12. Charley Murphy of Toronto finished second in the mens race in a time of 37:26, with Rob Lefebvre of Williamstown finishing third in 37:50. Sebastian Warner of Cornwall was the top male master (over 40yrs) in 47:36.


Judy Andrew Piel of Nepean was the first to cross the line in the women’s race in a time of 50:19. Michelle Brokop of Ottawa finished in second in a time of 50:39, followed closely by Lisa Leskien of Sydenham in third in 50:43. Katy Murphy of Toronto was the top women’s master in 52:12.

4 km Race:

Pete Quevillon won the 4.2 km mens race in a time of 22:24. John Warner of Summerstown finished second in the mens race in a time of 47:53, with Jean-Francois Lessard finishing third in 49:32.


Reba Timbrell of Clarence Creek won the 4.2 km womens race in a time of 31:47. Clare Gallant of Pakenham finished second in a time of 35:51, with Brenda Sturkenboom of Williamstown finishing third in 37:05.

The next race in the Dion Ontario Snowshoe Running Series will be the Dion Flurry Snowshoe Race (sold out) held next weekend in Mount Hope, followed by the series finale, the Dion Squall Snowshoe Race in Hammond on February 27 (registration available until Feb 20 or until sold out).
