The DION CANADIAN SNOWSHOE SERIES supports the growth and participation in the sport and recreational activity of snowshoeing and snowshoe running for all ability levels; while providing quality competitive events at beautiful race venues.

CASH PRIZE PURSE: Points will be awarded for each race in the series with the top 3 male and top 3 female in the series splitting the $1,200.00 cash prize purse (First = $300, Second = $200, Third = $100) at the completion of the series.

1st place = 10 points
2nd place = 9 points
3rd place = 8 points
4th place = 7 points
5th place = 6 points
6th place = 5 points
7th place = 4 points
8th place = 3 points
9th place = 2 points
10th place = 1 point

SERIES GUIDELINES:

The male and female competitors with the highest accumulated points at completion of series will be named the Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series Champions.

In the event of a RACE TIE, total points earned (for placed and displaced positions) will be split evenly between each finisher involved.

In the event of a SERIES TIE, the athlete with higher placings in head-to-head races will be crowned as series winner. If an additional tie breaker is still needed, then athlete finishing times in head to head races will be totalled with the lowest combined time being named the winner.

In the event that there is not enough snow to hold a ‘snowshoe race’ and the race is held as a ‘trail’ race (without snowshoes), series points will still be awarded.

FREE SNOWSHOES!: Each race in the series will be giving out one free pair of Dion Snowshoes on race day in addition to other prizes from our sponsors.

FROSTY FOOT AWARD: A $100 prize package, courtesy of Spafford Health and Adventure, will be awarded to the person who completes the most races in the Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series. In the event of a tie, we will draw to award the winner. (Note: Top 3 male and female winners in series not eligible for Frosty Foot Award).

Snowshoe Canada is the governing body in Canada for snowshoe running, racing and as a recreational activity. Races in the 2024 Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series have been sanctioned by Snowshoe Canada.

The Montane Yukon Arctic Ultra takes place in Yukon, Canada starting February 4, 2024 and is billed as ‘The World’s Coldest and Toughest Ultra’.

WINTER RAIL RIP
Sharbot Lake, ON
A beautiful snowshoe race from the Kick and Push Brewery to Sharbot Lake and back.
The majority of the race will take place on the beautiful K&P Trail. The course is largely groomed and flat, which is perfect for experienced racers looking to run a fast time, and also a gentle introduction for newcomers coming into the sport.
Race distance will be roughly 7.5km long.
NOTE: Points will not be awarded in this race for the Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series.

SNOWSHOE RUN & FUN
Nobleton, ON
If you would like to try snowshoe running, check out “Snowshoe Run & Fun” put on by King Township at Cold Creek Conservation Area.
These are one hour recreational sessions. No experience required. Dion snowshoes will be provided.
The sessions are free, but registration is required.

GREAT MUSKOKA SNOWSHOE EXPERIENCE

The inaurgural Great Muskoka Snowshoe Experience presented by Snowshoe Canada is a health and wellness event designed to get people out for some outdoor exercise and social interaction during winter.
This is an untimed non competitive recreational snowshoe event.
