2026 Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series Men's Champion - Bernie Hogan Congratulations to everyone who took part in the 2026 Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series . We had a great season with eight races taking place in Ontario, Quebec, BC and the Yukon . Points were awarded in each race with the highest point total being awarded the series champions, A $1,200.00 prize purse, donated by Snowshoe Canada , was shared between the top three male and top three female finishers in the series. The final race in the 2026 Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series took place on Sunday, February 8, 2026 in Whitehorse, Yukon at the Dion Yukon Snowshoe Race . Conditions were ideal with participants enjoying the beautiful 5.27 km course. Yanik Freeman took first place in the men's race in a time of 34:32. The Snownergie Simard Snowshoe Race  took place this weekend in Boischatel, Quebec. Multiple snowshoe running and trail running events took place with 5, 10 & 14km snowshoe events held. The 10km event awarded points towards the Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series. Men’s 5km Snowshoe: Julien Pinsonneault won the 5km in a fast time of 22:20. Mother Nature never seems to disappoint this winter! The 2026 Kawartha Lakes Snowshoe Race  took place on Sunday, February 1 in Fenelon Falls, ON. This race was also designated as the 2026 Canadian Snowshoe Running Championships. The 10km snowshoe race offered a $1000 cash prize purse (courtesy of Snowshoe Canada ) to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers in the Open Category.
