The Dion Howlin' Husky Snowshoe Race is the third race of the 2024 Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series.  

​

TIME:
10:00am (race day registration from 8:30 – 9:45am at MTB Kingston, 1255 Unity Road, Glenburnie, ON K0H 1S0)

 

DISTANCE:
6 km

 

COURSE:

A beautiful course on the mountain bike trails at MTB Kingston featuring a combination of groomed single track, sections of off trail deep snow, a few challenging hills and spectacular forest. 

 

LOCATION:

MTB Kingston, 1255 Unity Road, Glenburnie, ON K0H 1S0 

 

FACILITIES:
The race venue will be mostly outside, though there will be shelter from the elements and limited warming areas. Be sure to dress warm and bring dry clothes for after the race. We will have a campfire to cozy up to as well (please bring your own camp chair). There will be portable toilets on site. 

 

PARKING:
Free parking is available at the race site, but space is limited. Please car pool if possible. 

 

SNOWSHOE RENTAL:
If you don’t own a pair of snowshoes, we have a limited number of Dion Snowshoes for rent, and are available on a first come, first serve basis when you register online, so register early! Rental fee is $10/race . Other snowshoes may be available for rental at various Kingston and area outdoor stores.

WEATHER:
In the unlikely event of no snow, the race will still take place as a trail run (without snowshoes). If held as a trail run, it is YOUR responsibility to make sure that you have suitable traction devices that are safe for you to run in, especially if there is ice on the course. Recommended traction devices include Kahtoola MicroSpikes, ExoSpikes or NanoSpikes, or you can make your own pair of screw shoes very inexpensively. 

 

ENTRY FEES:

EARLY ENTRY FEE Up to December 31 : $45.00 
REGULAR ENTRY FEE January 1- February 15 : $55.00 
LATE ENTRY FEE: $65.00 (Race day)
